Weddings and Reunions

Dear Bride & Groom-to-be,

If you’re looking to start your new life in the quiet, peaceful setting of the mountains, then the Savage River Lodge is perfect to host your intimate wedding. We’re ideally suited for a maximum of up to 60 people and would love to make your wedding, not only a special day for you, but an event to remember.

In order to provide the bride and groom with ultimate privacy and unparalleled service, we normally require that the entire Lodge and our 18 luxury cabins all be rented out and we would close to the public.

Our package includes the cabin rental for the bride and groom for one night, our closure fee and the wedding planning that it takes for the special event. The package price will vary depending on the time of year and whether it will be a weekday or weekend. The price range is from $5,500 to $8,500 and excludes the cost of food and the additional lodging.

Our 18 individual cabins provide a respite for the wedding party and guests alike. They are all equipped with a loft-style bedroom, a pull-out queen sized sleeper sofa, gas operated fireplaces, mini refrigerators and a hot beverage bar that includes a coffee pot, tea kettle and a selection of fine coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Each cabin will comfortably sleep four adults, or five people including children.

Weekend Weddings: We do require a two-night minimum stay on weekends and for weddings this is also the case. A normal weekend wedding would begin with Friday evening welcome dinner. Saturday we would provide breakfast or lunch, with ceremony to follow in the early evening or late afternoon and the reception dinner afterwards. Breakfast can also be served Sunday morning before the guests check out.

Weekday Weddings: Perfect for the couple looking to come only for one night. We can do this any Sunday through Thursday evening and would love to host your wedding in late afternoon, with the reception to follow. Our 18 cabins would once again need to be rented out to ensure maximum privacy.

The food tab cannot be divided and is in one lump sum ideally paid for by one individual. The Lodge has a full bar and can provide any option from a fully open bar, an open bar with a cutoff point, house wine and beer only or even a cash bar.

The Savage River Lodge is unique in setting and very different in style than many other venues with our attending to detail and beautiful accommodations. The Elopement Package

So you've decided on a romantic ceremony for just the two of you... what better place than the Savage River Lodge! We'd love to host your romantic wedding and our package has all of the special details, so you don't have to worry about a thing on the happiest day of your life. For $500 (lodging not included) we provide a breathtaking venue for your marriage ceremony, the arranging of the officiant and the ceremony itself. We'll arrange for a beautiful bouquet for the bride and matching boutonniere for the groom. Afterwards, you can enjoy private dining or in cabin dining including a matching table centerpiece, one gift certificate for $100 towards our restaurant and a petit wedding cake. End the perfect night with chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Gruet to celebrate. After your romantic day (and night!) are over, we'll give you a CD with photos we took of the special day as a remembrance of your fairytale wedding. We do have an onsite officiant to perform civil ceremonies and have access to a Christian minister.

*Garrett County Maryland, where the Lodge is located, requires that marriage licenses be issued in Garrett County. They have a 48-hour waiting period. Anyone 25 years of age or younger must have a birth certificate and driver's liscense as proof of age. If previously divorced, you will need your divorce document.
